HabitPuppy ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the HabitPuppy mobile application ("HabitPuppy" or the "App") uses, where it is kept, and the choices you have.

The short version: your habits, entries, notes and health data stay on your device and in your own iCloud account. We never see them. If you choose to share anonymous usage statistics, we receive counts of which app features are used, and nothing about what you track.

1. Information the App Uses

1.1 Information You Enter

Habit and Tracker Data

• Names and descriptions of habits you track
• Custom icons, colors, and categories you assign
• Goal settings (frequency, targets, periods) and optional cost per item
• Progress entries and timestamps
• Notes you add to entries
• Coach and app preferences

This data is stored on your device (and in your iCloud account if iCloud is on). It is never sent to us.

1.2 Apple Health (optional)

If you grant permission, the App reads steps, exercise minutes, active energy, resting heart rate, sleep, and mindful minutes from Apple Health to show health trends alongside your habits, and writes mindful minutes when you complete a breathing exercise. Health data is processed only on your device. It is never sent to us or to any third party, never used for advertising, and never used for analytics. You can change or revoke access at any time in the Health app or iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

1.3 Motion & Fitness (optional)

If you grant permission, the App uses motion data on your device to detect walks, runs and cycling for exercise habits. Motion data stays on your device. You can revoke access in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness.

1.4 Notifications

Reminders and coach messages are scheduled locally on your device. Their content is generated on your device and is not sent through our servers.

1.5 Subscription Information

Purchases are processed by Apple. The App checks your subscription status through Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive your name, Apple ID, or payment details.

1.6 Anonymous Usage Statistics (optional, off unless you say yes)

In versions that include this feature, the App asks once whether you want to share anonymous usage statistics, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings > Privacy > "Share Anonymous Usage Stats." Nothing is sent unless you say yes.

If you opt in, the App sends feature-usage events to our analytics provider, TelemetryDeck. For example, "the Coach tab was opened," "a breathing exercise was started," or "onboarding step 3 was reached." The analytics library also records when a session starts and when the App is first launched. Each event includes the app version, device type and OS version, language and region settings, accessibility display settings (such as bold text or reduced motion), the date of first launch, and a random installation identifier that is hashed on your device and cannot be traced back to you.

Usage statistics never include tracker names, entry values, notes, streak lengths, coach names, health data, your name, your email, or your IP address (TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses). Statistics are not linked to your identity and are not used to track you across other apps or websites.

1.7 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email, or contact information (unless you contact support)
• Location data
• Photos, camera, or microphone data
• Contacts or address book
• Browsing history
• Advertising identifiers

2. How We Use Information

• Provide core functionality: track your habits, calculate streaks, show progress
• Personalize your experience: remember your preferences, themes, coach, and settings
• Calculate insights: show analytics, patterns, and money-spent estimates, all on your device
• Process subscriptions: unlock premium features you have purchased
• Improve the App: if you opted in, understand which features are used so we know what to improve

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 On Your Device

Your habit data is stored on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. We do not operate servers that store your habit data.

3.2 iCloud Sync

If iCloud is enabled for HabitPuppy on your device:

• Your data syncs through Apple's CloudKit to your private iCloud database
• Your data remains in your personal iCloud account, under Apple's privacy policy
• We do not have access to your iCloud data
• You can turn this off in iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud

3.3 Security Measures

• Data is stored in the App's protected container on your device
• Subscription verification uses Apple's StoreKit framework
• Usage statistics, if enabled, are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS)

4. Third-Party Services

TelemetryDeck processes data on servers in the European Union. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.

No Advertising, No Selling

HabitPuppy does not display advertisements, does not use advertising identifiers, and does not sell or share your data with advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access

You can view all your habit data within the App at any time.

5.2 Deletion

You can delete your data by:

• Deleting individual trackers within the App
• Uninstalling the App (removes local data; iCloud data can be removed in iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage)
• Turning off anonymous usage statistics in the App, which stops any further events from being sent

5.3 Permissions

You can change notification, Health, and Motion & Fitness permissions at any time in your device's Settings app. You can turn anonymous usage statistics on or off in Settings > Privacy within the App.

5.4 Subscription Management

Manage your subscription through iPhone Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.

6. Children's Privacy

HabitPuppy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

7. International Users

HabitPuppy is operated from the United States. Your habit and health data is not transferred to us. If you opt in to usage statistics, those anonymous events are processed by TelemetryDeck in the European Union.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy at this address and update the "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App's release notes.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of sale. HabitPuppy does not sell or share personal information.

10. GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Your habit and health data is stored only on your device and in your iCloud account, so you control it directly. Anonymous usage statistics are sent only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and you can withdraw consent at any time in the App's Settings.
